Last week on "Modern History Monday" I wrote about the Colonial house and how it created a sense of "Home". Regardless of what type or style of "home" that you live in, the "Colonial" house seems to distill the house form down to the basics.
I once read somewhere that the center entry, classic, "Colonial" house building style is the essential image of a house as drawn by all of us (in America at least) as a child. I love how there is almost always a shining or smiling sun as well as a family image in most pictures.
Here we are again at the beginning of another One Room Challenge!
Today is the day we have all been working for and waiting for...The Reveal!
I'm glad that you decided to come back and see how we are doing, and apologies for posting at the last minute this week for the project! If, for any reason you have just found my conversations, I challenged myself to work on the Fall 2015 One Room Challenge - where designers and design lovers of every kind work on one room for 6 weeks and write about the project. The whole concept was started by Linda of Calling it Home.com and has grown to include over 100 participants around the country (around the world, really, as there have been participants in England and Australia also!) Its easy to get hooked, so be sure and check out the Main Affair as well as the other Guest participants!
Welcome back to the One Room Challenge- We've made it to Week 4 and I am really doing pretty well with getting everything done by the deadline, but there are so many last minute things to finalize...its getting SERIOUS! The most time consuming elements are really the finishing touches, the last few details that take a room from good to great - those items have taken a back seat to the major components. That's when a deadline starts to make me anxious, so count me among those who are starting to get a little TENSE!
Welcome back to my One Room Challenge! Where designers volunteer to transform a room in 6 weeks and write about the process. And, here I am at the halfway mark - Week 3. I DID think that I was making good progress toward the finish, and I am certainly pleased with how everything is turning out...but seriously....that was the fastest three weeks ever! And there are only 2 weeks left before I need to photograph and be ready for the reveal!! We are all feeling the pressure of the time frame, but be sure and check in on the other participants- we love having you follow along and keep the good thoughts and comments coming. Some of the Wednesday posts are are certainly keeping me amazed at all the great inspiration.
So now we are really into the process and as excited as I am to be involved, it DOES create lots of nerves! Be sure and visit ORC on Wednesdays to see the "main attraction"!
I am so excited to be participating in the One Room Challenge as a linking partner! I have read with interest and pleasure all the posts of the talented designers and bloggers that have participated and I am looking forward to my first time...as an introduction, the One Room Challenge was started by Linda of Calling it Home a few years ago and it has become a blogging event that I have looked forward to each year!
