Week 2 is in the Books!
Its Week 2 of the Fall edition of the One Room Challenge 2019 and I have set myself the challenge of COMPLETING the unfinished rooms I have started- some for previous ORC editions, and all of them in order to sell the house and downsize. My plan is to focus on a new phase of my life of travel and to create a lighter, fresher way of living. Obviously there is a lot to do to move out of a home I have lived in for 35+ years, decorating is just part of the picture. But- these other issues do somewhat explain why I have not been able to complete my rooms in the 6-week time frame of the ORC. But, it is a great motivator and driver to complete a task in 5-6 short weeks – I am glad to have the kick in the pants it creates!
Be Sure and Follow Along! There is some great Design Going ON!
One of the reasons I love doing the One Room Challenge is the community of designers and DIY/Design enthusiasts. They are the best company and support while all the things that can bring you down and de-motivate you happen during any project! The One Room Challenge happens twice a year and it is SO inspiring!! The Featured Designers this season are a wide range of styles and personalities and the rooms they are doing certainly reflect that….Be sure and check them out and follow along with them and all the Guest Participants (including me) as we design our spaces!!
Where We Are So Far~

This week I am baring all and letting you know where each room is in the process of renovation and re-design. The rooms I am going to be completing and revealing for the final week are the Upstairs Loft Room that we started in the Spring – #CountryLoftRetreat, the former boy’s room that I turned into the new Guest Room, and the 2 other upstairs bedrooms that have been serving as office and study for me and my husband respectively – #ClassicCountryStudy and #BedroomRefresh.

#Project Will She Finish? Accepting the Challenge!
Oh BY THE WAY, I still need to photograph and renovate the upstairs Main Bath and Master Bath, just to make it interesting!! My plan, which sounds crazy as I write this, is to complete all this before Thanksgiving when my younger son comes home for the holiday. We will JUST HAVE TO SEE how far I get on this ambitious plan, lol!! #DesignersAreUncommonCreatures, but if I pull this off it is going to be amazing!
See you in Week 3, and be sure and check on my progress on Instagram @mlbinteriors
Cheers!

What a fabulous post! You are an inspiration and we know you can do this. Can’t wait to read and see more.
Thanks so much Kim! I had to get excited again about the projects, and with the new plans I am definitely looking forward to the final result!!
It is so rewarding to fall in love with the rooms and the furniture seems like it is happier as well!
Cheers!
